MiCA Regulation adopted by the Council

On 16 May 2023, the Council of the EU adopted the MiCA Regulation after Parliament's 1st reading.

The Council of the EU today endorsed the MiCA Regulation as approved by the EU Parliament a few weeks ago. This is (almost) the final step in the legaslative process to have the MiCA Regulation enter into effect.

We are now awaiting the texts to be officially published in the EU Official Journal, which will trigger the 20 days period before the act enters into effect. We then have between 12 and 18 months until the rules enters into effect in practice in the meaning that the market must have ensured compliance with the new rules.
